The Bunyip is more than just the best Boonah accommodation, it is a great base for day trips around the Scenic Rim visiting wineries, tourist spots and lookouts.
The Scenic Rim
There is much to see and do in the Scenic Rim region. We can organise guided bushwalks or local tours, geology tours, rock climbing and abseiling. Visit Mt Barney and The Portals tracks which finish in some of the most spectacular rock pools and gorges in South East Queensland with waterfalls, rock slides and deep swimming holes. Mt Cordeaux, Mt French and Queen Mary Falls are among the many local attractions.
We’re happy to share our local knowledge, and have maps and books available to guide you around the local area.
Activities
Learn to fly a glider or just take a scenic flight in one of our gliders or powered aircraft. There is the option of chartering a helicopter also. We can arrange parachute jumps and balloon rides.
Willowbank Raceway is 20 minutes up the highway for motor sport enthusiasts while Moogerah Dam is only 5 minutes away for water-skiing, canoeing and fishing. Australian Bass are the primary species caught as well as golden perch and silver perch in the dam. Guides are available and the Bunyip Resort is a great luxury accommodation alternative after a long day.

Ozone Pool - No Chlorine, no smell
Not feeling so energetic? Unwind with a Relaxation, Ka Huna (Hawaiian) or Hot Stones massage at the Resort with our qualified massage therapist or laze around the pool with a cool drink. The ‘ozone’ pool – lies at the southern end surrounded by mainly glass, while a ‘leafy’ screen provides privacy as you relax by the pool.
The sunset’s are an amazing experience and wonderful to share on the terrace over a glass of bubbly with that someone special. At night, our big outdoor fireplace has a billion star view. beats this experience
A quality astronomical telescope is available for guests and we can provide an astronomer if required.
